Sights Unseen - Sonnet

It's not just the miles that you might travel
But the sights that you visit in between
Right under your nose where you'll unravel
All the amazing things you haven't seen

If you take time to view your surroundings
You need not travel across foreign seas
There'll be many sights you'll find astounding
And where they all can be reached with such ease

I so often want to go exploring
In these places I don't normally roam
Discovering things which are alluring
I never expected so close to home

The world's your oyster with which you compete
You'll still find so much right under your feet
