Oktoberfest

by arquious   Oct 5, 2023

for many a thought have now gone astray
once boisterous clacking keys now grey
letters fade as have these wondrous lines
like shriveled fruit wasted on withered vines

in the distance heard an infant’s cries arise
here in this moment gaze beyond the skies

I knew Oktoberfest as a beer festival, so looking at the title, I supposed it would be fun. But I was mesmerized with the sadness in this write, the rhymes and flow were also great. Was trying to tie in the title to the content of the poem, I even searched for the history of Oktoberfest to see if it was somehow related to it, but I was failing. So maybe, it was a personal experience, reflection, or feelings felt during those times. And I love it for just that. A great write, though! Added to favorites.

Thanks for that MKKK. Indeed this is about an experience with that backdrop. Glad you enjoyed.
