Much Gratitude

by Jenavia L G   Nov 7, 2023

Thank you for the anguish, the scars and disdain,
For it was in those depths, I resisted in pain.
For every tear shed, every sleepless night,
I grew stronger within, ready to take flight.

Your actions painted wounds, bleeding and raw,
Yet within those wounds, seeds of strength I saw.
So in a way, your torment did me a favor,
Unleashing a flame, an unyielding endeavor.

Though it didn't feel like gratitude back then,
I find solace in knowing I've surpassed the den.
Thank you for nothing, and yet, thanks for something,
For in the trials endured, resilience began blooming.

So thank you, in a twisted way I guess.

Thank you for making me feel worthless. For had not you done so it would have never pushed me, to catapult, me to find myself worth.
So in a way all that you put me through has done me a favor. Even though at the time that's not how it felt. I guess I should thank you. Thanks for nothing, yet thanks for something.

Thanks for the knowledge of the limits you made me endure, thanks for the insight to the power to overcome, thanks for the power to overcome, Thanks for making me wade through the filth, thanks for forcing me to learn, to avoid the filth like you.
