A Grain of Sand:

by Scott Cole   Jan 5, 2024

I am but a Grain of Sand
finely divided
into a single soul
molded by my environment
chiseled by the hands of time
untill a toll
I am but a speck among many
similarly formed
yet uniquely detailed
beyond those naked eyes
and barefooted trails
for I am a Survivor
eroded but newborn
a particle of this Earth
who's weathered my own storms
fought the wind and surf
head on
to stay afloat
on days yet gone
to lead my footprints
to their watery grave
leaving my story
on those shores by the waves
while always believing
each day is a peach
each breath a gift
though Life's no beach
for where the sands gather
is a journey ventured
a hard life lived
a rocky adventure.

I have problem with some of the imageries but I have found this quiet intriguing, specially reminds me of some of my own. I too am taken by the concept of sand in my works.

This is not trade off for your last nomination. I have never been like that. Poetry is before all the praising.
And thanks for being so active and the sole nominating member in this hard times, with the best of your depths.
