You love them too much

Sometimes you have to leave your lover because you love them too much I got close and closer to you with everyday that passed I got so close I became you and you became me we crafted a personality to share our skin our soul so close together our bodies overlapped but you wanted to get closer so you tried until you came out on the otherside you were facing my back you began to keep walking keep searching for me "turn around" I screamed and you did but you were miles away and you remembered I looked prettier from a distance you said it was best we parted ways I sent half of myself to go searching for you and it never came back you took me with you the part of me I liked all that was left was you and so my new skin waited and waited for nothing I saw you months later in a grocery store you told me I did not look the same and I asked you to give me myself back you told me you couldn't it was stuck to your bones two strangers walking away with the personality of the other but not the other sometimes you have to leave your lover because you love too much but what happens when you decide to part ways to remember who you are without the hands you hold and you find you less with them which was more a prison to leave or to lose yourself for another
