Stay With Me

by Vera Flatt   Feb 18, 2024

Our kisses will be
The embers of our fire
Burning hot,
Giving us warmth on
The cold nights.
Your hand on my thigh
I
Can't help but pause before
We continue.
I want you.
I crave you.
But will the inevitable fall
That always arrives
Come?

Stay with me...
Let me devote myself to you.
Stay with me...
Let my kisses heal your hurt heart.
Stay with me...
My loyalty will never fade,
For once I bond myself to you,
Intertwining heartstrings to
Bind us together,
The freeing act of loving you
Will realign the very essence
of my soul.

Grow old with me,
We can tell our grandchildren
The stories of our youth.
Grow old with me,
As our hairs gray and
The lines on our face deepen...
Grow old with me,
For our love will remain
forever young.

Lie with me,
Side by side,
Our hearts beating
in perfect time.
Lie with me,
interlocking our fingers
As we gaze at the clouds.
Lie with me in brightness of day,
Our love laid bare in the light.
Lie with me in the cover of night,
And listen to our hearts whispering
The secrets of love.

Stay with me.
