Best Friend

My best friend, it's been many years
Since you've been gone, yet still you're near.
In my heart, your memory remains,
A beacon of light that never wanes.
I remember the times we shared,
cruising Air Depot on the weekends. Getting into so much trouble. Midwest City Police knew us well hahaha….
Regional Park was our stomping grounds. Many fights took place there and on the cruise.
Racing my Chevelle or your Galaxy with a $1000 stereo haha.
Sound Warehouse we used to go to and wish we had enough money to buy a cassette.
The laughter, the tears, the love we bared.
We were inseparable, you and I,
Two peas in a pod, up to the sky.
But then you left me, all alone,
And my heart was shattered, turned to stone.
I didn't know how to go on without you,
My best friend, my confidante, my true brother
But over time, I've learned to heal,
Though the pain of your loss is still real.
I know that you're in a better place,
Free from pain, with a smile on your face.
So I'll cherish the memories we made,
And keep your love close, never to fade.
Until the day we meet again, my best friend,
My love for you will never end.
Your Best Friend
