The "Real" Me

How are you today? Fine,
that's what I always say.

I feel so much more than I tend to show, I always look happy, even when I'm low.

I put on a nice smiley face,
but on the inside is a whole different place.

I pray to God, and ask for peace! For all these feelings, inside me to cease!

I can't always say what I'm feeling, and show you, with what I'm dealing.

So I turn to God, I know He's always there! He hears each and every little one of my prayers.

I've learned to have faith and believe, and His peace I'll truly receive.

I've learned to shine brightly and glow, to be unselfish, and not let those feelings show.

Sometimes it's hard, and life gets kinda tough. But God's there through the smooth, and through the very rough!

I gotta remember when I‘m feeling down, to keep my head up, and just look around!

I'm not gonna sit here and pout…whine, cry or shout!

Once again I turn to Him, and all my worries He'll quickly dim.

Sometimes it's hard, to talk about my feelings, and the things with which I'm dealing!

So when life's not fair, I go to God in prayer.

He helps me through the strife, and the long, lengthy road of life!
