i'm in love

by writer   Jul 11, 2024

'i'll wait a lifetime or two
to get me through'

when the tug of war shows me loss,
i will forever look at the audience
and see you sit there cheering me on,
from the shadows, in broad daylight,
until i win.

i never thought i'd say this:
i'm in love with you.

is fate delicate and merciful this way:
pulling me into the depths of the sea
to only push me towards you?
they say storms before rainbows.
i was stuck in a tsunami
before what i hope i am now finding
to be treasure gold.

it's like the dusters have erased
all the chalk from the board,
the drive through is clear
as the fog lifts,
all the toxicity has evaporated.

you're my journey ~ my destination
you're my lifeline ~ everything I want to believe in
astrology, numerology, my peace
i saw an angel today,
i'm seeing stars
everywhere i've been looking,
they've been falling on me
working on and on towards making my wishes come true.

what do you think will happen
when both of us will finally get married?
do you think it will rip the sky
from above their ground?

i will let go, i promise.
