You Found Me

You Found Me

I was in broken pieces, scattered
and even though I was glass
Somehow you found me and I mattered
ignited love in the blink of a flash

I did not know why
I sparked something inside you
or why you thought I could be the one
and yet you found me against all odds
when I was a moon and you were a sun.

And even new love can feel deeper
then connections felt for years
and even new love can be stronger
than old love that only triggers tears.

And I was a dancer and you were not
and you remember things that I've forgot
and you and I are kind of like
the most unusual mix you could possibly find
and yet you found me
and I am so glad that you are mine.

And I like to paint and you like to smoke
And I'm kind of allergic so I want to choke
And you like to cuddle me sitting outside
and my favourite part of the day is
looking into your puppy dog eyes.

And we both had kids from broken love in the past
And when all the kids met, I felt like it was a blast
I hadn't had the feeling before, but it made me glad
to feel like a whole family, we were just mom and dad.

Don't know how this happened
I just made a prayer
and then you came to me, and then you were there
and you made a prayer looking for love too,
and God took our hearts and made something new.

I was in broken pieces scattered,
and even though I was glass
Somehow you found me and I mattered
wanted to love me
why did you ask?

I didn't want to feel love and yet I did
started with a message and that's where it led,
you feeding squirrels within your backyard
knew that I loved you when I wrote you a card.

I don't know how I'm so lucky, but this just feels right
You had your demons and I gave you light
My eyes were closed but you made me see
that true love could exist when you found me.
