Wrestling with Shadows

by Meriem Otman   Aug 10, 2024

I’m diving into my mind, trying to shake these dark vibes,
Lost my way, no compass, tripping over tangled lies.
Thought being kind would suffice, but now I’m paying the price,
Roaming through the shadows, seeking out a slice of light.

Where are you, my friend? I’m trying to set things right,
Hoping we can return to where we began the fight.
I lost my father, and it’s hard without him,
The world feels so cold, and I’m struggling to fit in.

I’m dreaming those dreams again, like inheriting his plight,
Feels like I’m walking in his shoes, wrestling with the same old fight.
So where are you, dear friend? I’m ready to make amends,
Endured the rough and tough, just hoping to mend what bends.
