Whittle

by Kate   Aug 20, 2024

What I turn myself into for others is unhealthy:
I’d give my last drop of blood for a pinprick,
I’d swallow the sea if it tossed the wrong way,
I’d surrender myself to the sun for a burn.
Without hesitation or second thought:
I’d destroy the universe over misfortunes,
I’d wrestle the stars into perfect alignment,
I’d lay my life on the line for a turn of fate.

I whittle away until there is nothing left.
