Rebounding Love - Sonnet

by Walter   Aug 22, 2024

If love is a map then I was once lost
An endless journey on land and the sea
Facing a climate of heat and the frost
Dreaming of places that I'd rather be

But who ever knew just where we might meet
I wasn't looking when our paths would cross
My head I kept low and stared at my feet
Because my heartache was feeling a loss

Sometimes to move on we have to forget
And with our past we must learn to let go
When hearts can be fooled to owing a debt
Left feeling empty with nothing to show

But when we are moved by more than our feet
A vicious circle we often complete
