Before sunset

It's all so childlike;
summer times back in school
when you're running and playing around,
reading fairytales in books of happiness and love,
until you open your eyes and see
you're much older in spirit and age
but there's something strange
about your little tale.

You look at him and you sense something different,
he speaks and you feel like listening,
even when he doesn't speak clean,
he's nothing like the ones you meet,
but there's an odd charm about him
keeping you next to him.

It's a been a few years and you already sense it's fire,
you can already see he can't give what you desire
because men and boys,
they drink and play
and they sin and dust themselves off again.
But even with the future in front of you,
you look into his eyes,
midnight almost touches morning
and you realise
simply just how much you want to feel his lips on yours.
And after churning the thought for hours and ages, you verbalise it in quick succession.
His eyes widen for a second
and the rest is mystery.

His gentle hand on my skin,
and he's already taken me places
I thought I'd never visit.
Is this what it feels like to be with a man?
