Fix you

Forsaken dreams,
I watched them with you.
You kissed me once
and I'd lived a hundred lives anew.
If the ocean bed near my home had signs,
you'd see they've been commanded to part where you stand,
you don't know where I come from,
but I'm the nymph of a foreign land.
I was written down in seas, I walk shores barefoot, and I sing songs of love.

But you, you walked in once,
from where I know not,
sweet-hearted, sugar-syruped, you held my hand and that was more than enough,
to walk me out of the sea and step onto unknown land,
I see you walk in front of me
in dreams, in scenes, in daily memories.

Why, why'd you touch me
if you knew you had been lost at sea?

I smile as you smile,
I recollect each moment spent
as a happy memory.
I'm serene cheating
on my beloved darling.

But you know nothing about me,
except the dream I hold so close -
my past, my present, my future,
everything absolutely unknown.
I would have abandoned you
if you didn't make me feel
exactly all those things
I once treasured to be a certain reality.
What witchcraft is this?

  • Oh, this is a lovely poem. I love the question at the end. I love that this sweet feeling feels so unrealistic that only it could only be crafted by witchcraft. I like the way you started this poem. Each stanza was well written and so descriptive.
