bitter truths

by writer   Oct 4, 2024

i'm down on all lines
to go down in pieces of flames;
i don't know what can save me -
this is what they wanted,
this is what i'm providing.
hit it till it goes 130,
the high from the highest i've ever been;
i could smoke you up,
i could cut you into tiny lines,
but oh boy, i'm not in my right mind
else i would have never been out with someone like you,
you can be a lot of things i don't like.

rich boy, here's a little secret:
i'm the rich girl of your dreams -
the poor little rich girl
who went overboard
and crashed and collapsed
until her parents stepped in and
pulled her out
of her worst nightmare come to life
and oh hon, you should see how bitterly i survived:
the lashes, the crashes,
it's a miracle they say to see
how head strong i am alive.

i could hang out with my baby brother
but he does everything i've never touched:
name it and his vendors will get it
from new york,
from lands of ecstasy,
but i know he won't be around to save me.

i just need one single thing
to stay alive:
just one single thing
before i give in and die.
just that one thing.
