I Got What Matters Most

by Oluwaseye Olayode Taiwo   Oct 7, 2024

I've faced betrayal from those I held dear,
Forsaken by friends, left alone with my fear.
I risked my life, gave my heart and my all,
But through every trial, I still stand tall.

Above all, glory to God, I sing,
For I've lost nothing, in Him I take wing.

I got what matters most,
You can take everything, but not my Saviour’s host.
My God will never fail,
He’s truth, He’ll prevail.
You can take everything, but not my Jesus,
I got what matters most.

In the darkness, You’re my guiding light,
My courage, my strength, through the long night.
Greater than battles that rage in my mind,
I trust in You, Lord, with love intertwined.

They tried to bury me, but they couldn't see,
A precious seed blooms with faith in Thee.
No power can touch me, for You have won,
In the face of darkness, I rise with the sun.

Sometimes on this journey, I stray from the way,
Yet my weakness becomes a canvas for Your play.
My story’s not over, it’s just begun,
Failure won’t bind me, for You are the One.

Arrival’s not the goal; it’s the heart You seek,
You cherish my journey, even when I’m weak.
The tale isn’t done if it’s not yet bright;
With You in the room, my fears take flight.

I got what matters most,
With Jesus beside me, I can weather the storm.
When I’m feeling lost, He keeps me warm.
When tears overflow, He wipes every eye,
In the fight of my life, He’s always nearby.

I can’t my worries; that Your part of the game,
But I hold to the stories of His mighty name.
He moves just as He did in days of old,
I am saved, can I hear an “Amen”? For sure!

In every sermon, in every song sung,
I hear my Saviour’s love, forever young.
No matter the trials that come from the fight,
His Word is my truth, my guiding light.

I’ve walked through the fire and felt the cold sting,
Lost friends, lost my way, yet still I can sing.
In the wreckage, I learned through the pain,
One thing remains: my joy, my gain.

If I got Jesus, I have all I need,
Take the world away, He plants the seed.
A hope deep inside, a joy that won’t hide,
In His arms, I find peace, my safe place to abide.

I’ve seen weakness to strength, grace where I fell,
It’s not by my doing; it’s His love I can tell.
A miracle of grace, His name I embrace,
With Jesus, I’m rich, in His arms I find grace.

Someday the trumpet will sound from above,
And the King of Heaven will come with His love.
I’ll bow on my knees, my soul sings its song,
I’m going home where I truly belong.

If I got Jesus, I’ve got it all,
Take the world away, and I’ll stand tall.
With hope that ignites, and a joy that won’t cease,
If I got Jesus, I’ve found my peace.
If I got Jesus, I got it all.
