A Small Reminder

by Lilychu   Oct 7, 2024

A glistening light of a thousand stars.
The moon hangs so bright,
Against the darkness of a billion years,
It hugs the earth so tight.

When I lie down and reach my hands into the air,
Then drop them by my side,
I think about you and the smiles you bring,
How that and your laugh coincide.

A fluttering heart beats inside my body,
Pushing around blood that feels warm,
And I'd bleed until you were full on love,
And my skin was broken and torn.

So peer at yourself in the mirror for me,
And tell me where you look.
Is it your hair, your eyes, your smile, or hands?
Your beauty leaves me shook.

I can't compare you to anything in the world,
Cos nothing matches your style,
So please just be kind to yourself and mind,
Self love can take a while.

These compliments may sound empty
But I promise you all I say is true,
Even if you hate yourself from the pit of your heart,
I will always remind you I love you.
