Strange as it is

by writer   Oct 13, 2024

Don't promise me those suburban dreams
when you can't promise to live it;
all I want is your heat,
your want, your desire, your body's sympathy.

I was once a symphony
until I was completely out of sync.
I stopped looking at the moon,
At the colours, at the noises,
There were only voices
At the back of my mind,
Asking me:
"What do you do?"
And I'd say,
I forgive you.

Now I'm writing the new chapter,
And the first one turned out to be you,
Please make it true,
Please give me everything i never knew,
Like love, dreams, ecstasy and something new.
I don't want to be blue,
I just want to be with you
As we go
Spiralling down places
In control
Like a rollercoaster
With a new song.

I, strange as it is, like you.
