Malevolent Mansion

by cassie hughes   Nov 2, 2024

In dark of night when creatures foul
Roam freely through the mansion grounds
The wise and wary keep themselves
Tucked far from evil sights and sounds

Those heedless souls who wend their way
Along the path to devils door
Through pumpkins glow in search of treats
Ignoring tales of what’s in store

Are never seen again in life
And no one dares to question why
The house in silent witness sits
Its secrets kept where none dare pry.
