Betrayal

by Mackenzie   Nov 7, 2024

Just another fool

Used as a tool.

He was so vulnerable

And believed he was unbreakable.

She loved him, she said

And messed with his head.

Fake love from the beginning

That he confused with the real feeling.

She gave him nothing

But he gave her everything.

Should have known she’d leave him for his friend.

How other way would it end?

The look in her eyes at the wrong guy

That made his insides die.

His heart gave out

And he began to shout.

He called for his girl, but she was never his.

He watches as they kiss.

Doubling over, he is pained.

He walks away ashamed.

Fallen tears wet the ground,

And in them he will drown.

They choke him silently,

His cries heard barely.

His eyes are blinded

And his initiative is no longer prided.

Broken inside, he struggles home,

His heart molding into stone.

Trust destroyed,

His face devoid.

No longer the same,

Claiming himself the blame.

He may never find another

And become a better lover.

Because the pain is too great,

Forever, this shall be his fate.
