A True Friend

When my life was so down low
You gave your hand to hold.
And helped me climb the depth I dug
Removing my blindfold

A warming sun would reveal.
Your true colours shining bright
And all I saw was your concern.
To want to make things right

They say you'll know your true friends.
When silently you call
Those who stay as long as it takes.
When you crash and fall

Feeling that I've given up
From climbing that steep slope
