The Podium

by BOB GALLO   Jan 7, 2025

The whole of eternity
is but a short while,
resting in the embrace
of your beauty.

This cradle of cosiness,
this surrender to music and symmetry
this caving into the light from within—
a canvas of kindness,
a podium for Michelangelo’s
ballets of paint and splendour.

While beauty itself
is but a fleeting moment,
soaking into the sponge
of our cognisance.
