Luminous Dream

My shining star,

When the night is late
And the world is hushed,
My mind ruminates
And I remember your touch

A smile adorns a sullen face,
Soft, unsure, and brilliant,
Intriguingly, merely a taste
Of one that glows beyond the trillions

That reside within the obsidian around you.

My lustrous star,

A hand yearns to touch,
To slowly understand,
To learn of the such
Intricately, beautifully, fashioned

Essence of you -

One I've dreamed to know;
I've wished upon the stars around you
For a chance to sew
My darkened soul to the moon

So I can breathe in your light.

My glittering star,

I will quietly watch as you prosper
And admire all that is you,
For how can a dreamer capture
A happiness so divine and new?

I will stay here with the moon,
And continue to dream;
I will forever love you
And wish to be lost in your gleam.
