Untended Love

by Simon Hayes   Jan 21, 2025

Say you miss me,
Swear you'll kiss me,
Beneath this red tinged, starlit sky.

Amid the stridence,
Of this crippling silence,
Marred and splintered, you and I.

Ruptured patches,
Above the scars and scratches,
Our wounds that heal, but recrudesce.

As sunlight glows,
And water flows,
For hearts to heal, must convalesce.
