When you violate the innocence of your husband,
falsely accusing him
of raping his own child
to win the battle for custody—

Aren’t you as savage,
as disgraced,
as the monster you claim he is?

Isn’t this the symmetry of the universe—
where prey and predator
exchange places?

yet the pattern remains unchanged:
The unsatiable thirst of wickedness
for the blood
of innocents.
