The Sea of Love

by Walter   Feb 6, 2025

We once would share the moon
And the shadows it would cast
We once would look on lonely nights
When clouds were overcast

We still would feel its presence
Even when it wouldn’t shine
We still would feel each other
Like tingling down the spine

The gravity of the moon
Its attraction causing tides
The motion of its waves
On which we both ride

But something made us crash
The shallow of the shore
An unexpected force
From the moon that we’d adore

Do we now blame its presence?
For destroying all our love
When we are washed away
While it still shines above

Because love is like the moon
Sometimes it makes you frown
But you should never blame it
When, in love, you drown
