Ocean

by MysteryMan   Feb 9, 2025

We arose upon the sunlight to pass one another through what felt like tombs
We’ve become strangers once more as if one another we never knew

You did your hurt as I felt the pain
I did my part to hurt you again

We played tug of war of what I felt you did
Then you fault me of what all I hid

Back and forth you pushed I pulled
We didn’t know how scant our time would be
We had ourselves fooled

We had some high highs both you and I
We had some very deep low lows
With every hit we gave unto one another
Our bodies, minds, and hearts felt them blows

We’re toxic to one another as we inhale our own toxins
We can’t admit to what it was that hurt kept causing

We had some good days
Drifting to some bad days felt within our emotions
Our anger was borne first
Then tears of sadness formed this OCEAN

I’m struggling trying to swim to you
Trying to salvage what we had at bay
By the time my presence had found you
What we had was too late
