When two people met from a long time ago
Becoming close friends, they each took it slow
Until their feelings started to show
But confusion would play on each mind

Will friendship be ruined by wanting more?
What would they risk if they opened that door?
Can they go back to their way before?
If love turned out to be blind

Both had been hurt some time in the past
Remaining convinced that true love won't last
When years might be shared but the ending is fast
Any offers will be declined

Although both know, they share a gift
Whether friendship or lovers, emotions exist
Why should they prove what this consists
Just so they'll be defined

When boundaries are put on everything
Whether it's true love or just a fling
Whatever you do will have some strings
No matter what you might find

If people would only try to accept
And not just believing they are perfect
Whatever we choose, have some respect
