A Bare Rose

by Walter   Mar 7, 2025

A flower is never still, as if dancing in the breeze
When it's facing you, just imagine what it sees
Its petals bloom such beauty, but it cannot compare
A single rose that's deep red, is only looking bare

Like oxygen deprived, it's breath that you would steal
Held by gentle fingers, your warming touch it feels
As if kissed by the sun, it yearns your soften lips
Self-defences drop, when every thorn is stripped

Just like aurora lights, that symbolises dawn
Waking next to you, a heart is never torn
A rose will need a vase, with its stem immersed
I will feed your hunger, to never die of thirst

Your rose now doesn't move, when once would always thrill
Instead, I'm watching you, also perfectly still
And gently as you wake, when I'm drawn towards your eyes
You'll aways be more beautiful...There is no compromise
