Vertigo

by BOB GALLO   Mar 9, 2025

Nothing definite is definitely definite—
things are only relatively so.

No relative is relatively relative—
things are, undeniably, relative.

So then, the definite is relative,
and the relative, definite.

If we turn, left becomes right,
and right turns left.
Blue burns warm, red chills cold.
The Earth orbits the Sun,
not the other way around.

Slaves master their crafts,
while masters are enslaved by wealth.
Criminals hold power,
while freedom fighters are caged.

Women protrude, men are hollow.
Truth hides in shadows,
while lies stand as obvious truth.

The world spins—
but who, truly, is upright?
