The Obvious and the Unseen

by ddavidd   Mar 18, 2025

The obvious is always visible,
yet vision is personal—
fluid, interpretational.

Like children playing in the yard,
while a boy watches from a balcony above,
seeing what they cannot.
They laugh, they chase,
but he—
he cannot even be the boy he longs to be.

Instead of playing,
he is lost in his own display of the obvious,
his vision unseen by those
blissfully enclosed
within the walls of their happiness,
unaware of other enclosures
beyond their sight.

How could a single boy,
a tragic hero, alone,
scale the crowds, the nations—
the weight of the world?

How could—
"one be equal to everyone,
and everyone to one?"

The answer is not in calculus,
but in the geometry of mirrors,
the quantum physics of equilibrium.
