Talking With The Moon

by Cherrie Maleney   Mar 20, 2025

A tale is written in these cherished books of old.
Two girls whose hands are entwined with words.
A sweet and gentle hum fills the quiet spring air,
and a bright blue sky filled with singing love birds.

The stars can be seen as the world turns to night,
and together they lie watching the moon at its full.
One of the girls turns her head and speaks,
and while she does, by her darling's waist she will pull.

"Instead of looking at you with the love I have now,
I'll look at you with the love of years gone by.
A smile will creep onto my blood-rushed face,
as I'll know that I'm home with you by my side."
