If I Could Write Magic Into Our Lives

by Xaque   Mar 21, 2025

It wouldn’t be
the kind of magic you shoot
or the kind
that explodes.
No,

I’d give this
terrible world
witches— powerful witches
who work
in covens,

whose gentle nature
lets years of wind move
enough dirt to bury
everything humanity
has built.

After they’ve danced,
they’d gather
stones, leaves, and candles
for an altar
to Sacred Harvest.

They’d give us words
we’d never forget,
meals we’d never forget,
and for everyone who’s cold,
a warm blanket.
