Detached

I watch your bracelet fall off your wrist
As you quickly walked away
The latch somehow began to untwist
When both of your arms would sway

You didn't notice, nor turn around
It was me who watched it fall
Your delicate bracelet now on the ground
But you seemed to not care at all

I bought you that bracelet years ago
And you wore it every single day
Now it's scratched, but your name would just show
Love from me when turned the other way

On the underside my name is unmarked
While it was resting against your skin
But what's on display that falls apart
Much like the relationship that we are in

When you don't respect the love that I give
There's one side that always gets bruised
You always know that I will forgive
And this is why, I always feel used

Love like a bracelet, there's always two sides
But the true message lies underneath
Neglected and careless is all you provide
When I return it, there's still no relief

Like concave and convex, we do not match
This is what you would have me believe
But once fitting perfectly, when we'd attach
Up until you decided to leave
