Words by Heart

by Walter   Apr 9, 2025

She told me she would write a story
About the love we share
And how we became together
To live life as a pair

I told her that I had read this book
For I knew the story well
And strangers wouldn't read it
I don't think it would sell

But she just smiled and looked at me
This book is not for sale
The words are still all in my heart
And none yet been unveiled

I said I thought we wrote this book
Together word for word
Love has ways to fill the pages
Whenever it occurs

Then she just grabbed my hand
And placed it on her heart
She told me now to close my eyes
To let the reading start

When my body began to tingle
What felt like reading braille
Where every beat her heart would make
Began to tell a tale

And this just proves one thing to me
With connection we all need
Love's expressed in so many ways
And not just words we read
