in another life we'll stay up all night together, manage our lives together seamlessly. clean on saturday mornings so we can enjoy the rest of the weekend. in the morning you’ll sing along to our favorite songs while i make you pancakes. we will laugh and dance and i’ll use the batter covered whisk as a microphone for me. we’ll clean up after breakfast and i’ll join you in the shower, we’ll wash eachother and kiss beneath the hot water. you’ll follow me back to bed that’s freshly made with clean sheets. we'll make a mess of it and make it up again and i will tuck in the corners.
in another life i will kiss you in public when i think no one is looking - you'll take me to the bathroom and lock the door because you just can't wait any longer. i’ll drive us home but maybe stop somewhere secluded, touch you just how you like it from the safety of the backseat. i will hold you when you need to cry, make you a hot cup of tea when you forget how to take care of yourself. you’ll motivate me to be good to myself when i don’t feel like it and we’ll remind each other to take our meds. i’ll tell you you’re beautiful when you don't recognize your own reflection, tell you you’re worth the world because you are. we’ll cook dinner together and i’ll do the dishes and you'll put them away. in another life we are everything we dreamed we could be.
in this life you are sunshine mixed with a little hurricane, a half that's living to destroy and a half that's trying to survive. and still you believe in poetry and love and passion and everything you can feel and cannot see. in this life i wonder what will happen in the future. and even though neither of us knows what this time will hold, i know one thing for sure: you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. i may be made of dismantled almosts - but if nothing else, i hope you know that i love you with every ounce of my being.
