I Was Found

by Cherrie   Apr 25, 2025

3 am I can't reach my phone.
It's drifting away to its catacomb.
The light still glows with every mile.
Seeing your notif to make me smile.

I want to succumb to this dark.
Ending life just to reach my mark.
Ready, set, go, and I'm on my way,
Down every path and river that I can take.

I gave it to you to do your best,
But I feel this love was just a test.
Did I pass? Did I win? Did I make you proud?
I'd lost my way but I was slowly found.

Memories on memories that I can see.
Dusty and worn, no longer meant for me.
I tried my best and I still love you so,
I'll do my utmost to let you know.

I can't let you go, I can't let you down.
So stroll with me through this old town.
Hold my hand, and kiss me sweet.
In the future again we will meet.

I promise you darling you're all I need.
I'd try to get over you but I'll only bleed.
My knees are scratched and my hands are numb.
Tripping over words, am I really this dumb?
