Think of me, still

by Guilty By Design   Apr 26, 2025

I hope you think of me when the room gets quiet
and you light a candle just to feel something warm.

I hope you think of me when your tire light comes on
how I’d tell you, “pull over, I’ve got it”
like love was something you could patch.

I hope you think of me when you see a peach,
soft on the outside, a little bruised underneath.

I hope you think of me when the road stretches out
and there’s no one beside you just headlights and memory.

I hope you think of me when your phone buzzes
and you check it, hoping it’s me.

I hope you think of me when the cold finds your ears
and you pull on the hoodie you stole from me.

I hope the songs we played still hit the same
even if you skip them now.

I hope you feel me when the sky cracks open
and fireworks paint the dark.

I hope you think of me.
Not all the time.
Just enough.

Because I think of you all the time.
Definitely more than just enough.
