Pieces

by StarGirl   Jul 21, 2004

The hurtful words you say,
Things that put me down.
Expecting me to come right back up
To smile like a clown.

You once loved me above the rest
A special china doll placed upon a shelf.
Accidents happen, and I fell.
Lying there to hide within myself.

Lying there broken and shattered.
Where were you with the glue to put me back?

I put the pieces back together
And made myself a new.
Still a little shaky
Still a little blue.

Then you ran,
And I followed.
But when I ran,
I was alone.

No light at the end of the tunnel
Darkness swallowed me whole.
And then I knew right then and there.
That it was my time to go.
