New Outlook

by JS   Jul 21, 2004

Every day,
My life got worse,
There must be something wrong,
It must be a curse,

Whatever I asked for,
I couldn’t receive,
It would all go wrong,
Just let me grieve,

I asked for an angel,
And I got a devil,
I asked for a lot,
My mind wasn’t level,

I wanted a friend,
And I got a foe,
The harder I try,
The less I know,

But in the end,
I understand,
That devil wasn’t bad,
And now he is grand,

Bad feelings for that foe,
Are no longer,
For, the things he did,
They made me stronger,

And as for the things,
I didn’t know,
I prayed for real,
And them, God did show,

And now it’s alright,
Life’s not too bad,
With a new outlook,
I can’t be sad.

I love how you described the battle that we've all been through in such beautiful lyrics. I agree with Lex, you pull the reader in, it's like a story in lines of poetry
