I was a blood red rose

by Lost Angel   Jul 21, 2004

Me, a blood red rose bud that holds a scent unknown
Labouring a love that goes unshown
Waiting for you my sun to make me grow
And once the sunlight finds us it will never let us go

In the spring he found me and offered me his love
At last I met that man that my heart had dreamt of
He took my heart and intertwined it with his
Perfection took form I had never felt like this

In the summer I bloomed under his touch
I smiled, as he could never love me too much
I was a rose in full bloom and he my sunlight
I had never experienced a warmth that felt so right

In the autumn he and his heart began to fade
But even though I knew my sun was leaving I stayed
I felt his warmth going but I still held on
Although I felt I was dying I stayed strong

In the winter he my sun left me alone
But I still dreamt of his voice his soft gentle tone
Slowly I fell apart petal by petal tear by tear
My tears fell and formed the shape of my silent fear

I began to wilt wither and die
And to this world I said goodbye
