There once was a girl with a broken heart and an empty smile
crying herself to sleep, she just didn't think life was worthwhile.
she held the knife against her wrists until the pain would melt away
wishing she were beautiful, wishing she could see more then just grey
Then one day she met an angel, he wouldn't let her die
He fell in love with her, he wouldn't say goodbye
He wanted to make her feel beautiful, and take all the hurt away
And through her world of darkness, he shone his golden ray
She loved him more than anything, her heart was his to keep
But the thought of him so far away made her cry and weep
She needed him to hold her, to feel his touch against her skin
She didn't want him to see the scars or know all of her sins
She was tainted and corrupt but he was pure and perfect
She knew all of this and it left her poor heart wrecked
Without him she was nothing, he was her very soul
Her heart belonged to him, she wanted him to fix the hole
But he couldn't do that, they weren't meant to be
No matter how hard he tried, she would live in misery
An angel and a human girl, are not meant to be in love
Rain fell like teardrops from the angels watching above
They could see her heart breaking, he was all she had
He couldn't bear to see her like this, to see her so terribly sad
You said forever she whispered, forever wasn't very long
I loved you so very much, where did i go wrong
Angels are not meant to love humans, he replied
But all that he cud do, was stand and watch as she cried
Goodbye my angel, your wings are drenched in my blood
Against her chest, her empty, tattered heart began to thud
You were all i ever wanted, he whispered in her ear
I cant live without you, her eyes were filled with fear
He kissed her on the lips and as he left her side
One last tear slid down her cheek and her heart slowly died.
