THE FLAG IN MY WINDOW

by Harry Bryant   Jul 22, 2004

THE FLAG IN MY WINDOW

The flag in my window is precious to me,
it is the banner of the land of the free,
a great many died and went to their grave,
fighting for the freedoms, they wanted to save,
there is no other country, I want to live in today,
there is none better, than the good old USA,
where you can stand up, for what you believe,
without fear of reprisal, to make you grieve,
you can voice your opinions, what ever they are,
that is a right given in the flags every star,
oh! we have had our attackers, brought from outside,
evil people who hit, run and then hide,
deep in their heart they know they won't win,
they know we will protect freedom, all over again,
no matter the reason, no matter the cost,
we know our freedom will never be lost,
so all terrorists, better take heed,
try taking our freedom, you will never succeed,
all of our people, from all walks of life,
will go to battle, to defend against strife,
our bright colored flag is for everyone,
the red, white and blue will not be undone,
the blue is night time, indicated by stars,
that unite the states all together,
followed by red and white bars,
the red in our flag is for the blood that's been shed,
the white don't mean surrender, but honor instead,
lives have been given, to keep our land free,
that's why the flag in my window, means so much to me.
