The Fire

by lyle fortin   Jul 24, 2004

You've set an incredible fire
That burns me with my own desire
The fire that consumes so deep
The fire that I'd love to keep
It seems this fire is all I feel
And to everyone else its incorporeal
Your lips have set me ablaze
Your eyes that so deeply phase.
At night, I give myself to sleep; to dream
And your face is as vivid as it would ever seem
This fire you've set, a preternatural flame
That no amount of water could ever tame;
Only proves that there is nothing to do
This fire proves that I'm hopelessly devoted to you.
