Silent Actions

by Leah.A.   Jul 25, 2004

She sits alone on her bed
Crying tears of sadness
Droplets which silently scream her pain
But no matter how much she cries
Her screams will never be heard
Never be known by anyone
But herself
Pain is the only thing left for her to feel in her life
So she gets up from her bed
Goes to her drawer
To grab a blade
Runs to the bathroom
Locks the door behind her
Sits on the bathroom floor
And pulls her sleeve up
To expose her wrist
And with tears still falling from her eyes
She puts the cold blade to her skin
Presses it in
Her skin tears
Revealing a path of red
A path soon taking on new paths
As the blood moves and drips from her wrist
Marking history
Marking her pain that never seems to subside
Suddenly she drops the blade
It falls to the ground
And she sits there
Crying
And smiling to see her pain relieved
By that very blade
But she has to stop
For only she knows
Tomorrow there will be more
So she wipes her wrist off
Pulls her sleeve back down
And walks out of the bathroom
Acting as if nothing ever happened.
