Love's Intoxication

by Nicole Kinder   Jul 25, 2004

Standing by your side,
With wild thoughts inside my head,
Wondering what move to make next,
In the absence my logic left.

Drunk with this passion,
Not wanting a simple daily ration,
To lust after more and covet silently,
Happenstance only circumstance can foresee.

Let the heart decide the fate,
And fate will cross the lovers' gate,
A paved path beneath a dream,
Looking for the love unseen.

My eyes searching yours
For an answer, and nothing more,
But hypnotized by your soul,
I'm lost, wandering for control.

Wrapped in the heaven of your arms,
Your smile is nothing short of charm.
Feeling our souls intertwine,
Your heart sharing the beat of mine.

Not wanting to change this place,
Just yearning to bask in your grace,
To feel your lips against mine,
To know nothing can alter our time.

Sharing the paradise created,
Emotions not needing to be sedated,
True feelings being exposed,
Leaving me all but composed.

I know you'll hold me until sunrise,
Our souls will each other recognize.
I never want to be let go,
To be left alone to grow.

Love me forever and always,
Until the end of our days.
I know my love will exist without condition,
And hold the utmost conviction.
