I Was Afraid

I was afraid to tell you how I felt,
scared of what you would say.
But I did tell you.
You got mad at me.
I don't think you understood,
what I was trying to say.
You forgave me by the third or fourth day of not talking.
You think our friendship is all worked out now.
I don't feel the same way.
I have tried to tell you this,
you don't get it,
it doesn't go through your head.
You still think that everything is ok.
We haven't talked for a while again,
not since that disagreement.
I guess I don't really have anything to say to you.
You wouldn't understand anyway.
I was afraid to tell you how I felt,
but it didn't make much difference.
