The ice craem van

by stanley potter   Jul 26, 2004

It tried to smile at me today,as some attention was focused on it.
it's rusty and decayed without any wheels or bonnet.
for something that once brought so much delight,
why should this van endure such a plight.
the interior destroyed by a Vandals fire, that was once a small child's ultimate desire.
somewhere in that van a spirit stills chimes,
as memories are recalled of much happier times
it's old unwanted dejected and crying
it knows in this heart it's body is dying
so now dear van give up and diminish
close your soul to your pain, your time here is finished
