What If...

If I knew what I could write to make this make sense - I would

If tears would make it better - I would cry another ocean

If talking would make it 'just gossip' - my phone bill would be massive

If music would make these thoughts silent - I would turn it up fall blast

If going to sleep made it a forgettable nightmare - I would take sleeping pills

If I knew what I had to do - it would already be done

If I could wash it away - I'd use a river of water.

If it were a sickness - then maybe a doctor could help

If time could change this - I'd invent a time machine

If this weren?t my reality - I'd know what love & respect truly meant & felt like

If forgetting it had a formulae - I would have concentrated in maths class

If it were the end of the world - I wouldn't have to live knowing or feeling this

If it didn't happen to me - I wouldn't have know it was possible

If my friends knew - I don't know what it would change

If I didn't care about you - this wouldn't have hurt me

If only you were honest - maybe I could have forgiven you
